  3. Painting my living room ceiling today as I wait for the snow to melt on my steep driveway....darned 4x4 doesn't work after all the work I put into it! Relegated to a summer project to get handled before next winter.

  7. I use Facebook to promote my YouTube videos. I also enjoy sharing photos with bike groups. I go there to just see bikes....lots of different people in different places on bikes. I have come to know a few people, but only because we all post a lot of photos. I have the most fun with people from this forum on Facebook..... I have been on a few other forums and none are fun. Some are too big and there is just no point in keeping up with yet another conversation about which oil is best. Some are just dead, the people are scared to joke around and are way too serious. A smaller activ

  10. I've been to Stepney and Wapping today. Asked for a pallet to be sawn on two, need it for something to do with my bike ramp and I collected the first half today. Will get the other bit when I next go in to work. It's a lot heavier than I was expecting. If asked by anyone why it was on the back I was going to twist round and shout, 'Some bastard's stolen the bricks I had on that!!!'

  11. Well I had planned to get up early (ish) and ride my default or "go to" round trip, the one I like, and ride when I can't be arsed to plan anything properly. As it happened I didn't manage to drag my sorry carcass out of my pit untill nearly 11, so by the time I'd got my eyes lined up with their holes it was lunch time and my "go to" ride was no longer doable comfortably in the time remaining before curfew as its pretty much a 5 Hour ride... So, I concocted this one 250 odd km, and using the village of Chevroches ( literally "goat rocks" ) as the southern point and sticking to

  12. Did the dirty and drove to Conwy the long way round to fill up at the Tesco, then popped over to the drive thru. Dad and daughter date. We spoke all things girly while parked at the beach scoffing grub by the bucket. Netflix next. I'll suffer some chick flic just to have her company. Kids grow up too fast and before you know it you're surplus to requirement.

  13. I have started going out for a ride on Wednesdays, weather permitting of course! last Wednesday I couldn't go as the bike went in for its annual service on the Tuesday but was not ready to pick up till Friday, things do take their time here in Spain but I love the 100 euro bill. So I'm all ready for this Wednesday but! the guy who usually puts the rides together has hurt his back he usually sends me the route so I can put it into my sat nav. This week that didn't happen as one of the other crew put this ride together, so I had no idea where we were going except for the meeting point. I had tw

  14. I think I may have already told you about the time they put a health testing machine in our town hall for a few weeks. I put my money in and stood on the scales. The instructions were in tiny writing and I bent down to see that it said to press this large red button which I did not knowing that this measured my height as it was pressed. The piece of paper it printed out said I was 12 stone but only 4 feet 8 inches tall and I was morbidly obese. I did it a few weeks later properly this time, a vast improvement and without even dieting or going to a gym.

  17. Well, elections, closed restaurants, winter (what passes for winter in Southern California), made it time to get the heck out of Kommiefornia. Nevada was a little more "open", so it was off to Pahrump for the weekend. The destination was never really the important thing, it was about the ride. Isnt it always? The route was based on the twistiest roads we could find between here and there (Pahrump). In the middle of the desert, on old Hwy 66 - the Mother Road, you find the remnants of a roadside motel. These always bring back memories of my youth, as i was an Air Force brat and we tr

  20. The skies finally cleared today and I was able to get Charlotte out for her maiden voyage. I am so happy with my purchase, just what I was hoping for. I did stay on the tarmac with the new tires and all, but the park is so nice, and it was only a short dirt road! No pics of me, I looked really dorky in my ADV gear on this bike....lol, can't wait for the new gear.

  23. 150km of Autoroute to Dijon in the pouring rain and apalling side wind, to be there for 14h00 so's to be home again before curfew at 18h00. It's like being back at bloody school, report back in by 6 and lights out at 8... Not a big fan of the autoroute by bike, especially in the rian when the speed limit drops to 110kph rather than 130, which means that you pay to go not that much quicker than on the normal roads, but when you're on a tight schedule they are effective. Even more so now I have a badge that means I don't even have to stop at the barrier and faff about getting wallet and t

  25. Had a tax reminder for the XR this morning and i noticed it says on it "This vehicle needs an appropriate MOT certificate" when i checks it was right it runs out tomorrow, fucking great a valid excuse to ride the bike i thinks, so phones the place i take it hoping because its raining he'll have a cancellation and fit me in. Sure enough he had three cancellations, i thank god for pansies as gets my riding gear on and off i go straight up the Rhondda Valley a horrible place to drive or ride through even in lockdown the traffic is busy. All goes well with the MOT and its a gentle ride home along

  26. My new riding gear finally arrived. I am super happy with everything, the leather jacket already feels like I have had it for years. The helmet is quiet and I got a pinlock this time, so no fogging up! Much more comfortable in this gear on the Honda than I was in my ADV gear, and I was surprising warm in it all. The new jeans are cool too!

  29. Being Melbourne's market garden area, Wandin isn't just the East's strawberry patch and therefore of prime interest through the summer months.... but there are also some small lanes tucked away from the main thoroughfares. The odd former hall, tennis court and even Primary School. All abandoned and left to rot, driveways and small lanes and carparks mostly overgrown or blocked by fallen trees and prickly blackberry hedges. Some tracks deliberately screened off by neighbouring owners But there's the odd one that's still passable, if not by car, then by bike, pushy or on foot. So

  31. I like to start my working day with a bit of a positive attitude. So far my day started with a 9 o' clock crisis meeting on the winrate of current govt tenders. I was late but didn't want to be there. Before I could think I gave that as my excuse Now I have a sudden meeting with one of the directors this afternoon. I'll have to remember not to blurt out that the hardest part of my job is being nice to stupid people. That's the problem with lockdown. Social boundaries collapse. Better remember to get out of my PJ's and get a shave too. Fuck this. If I am forced to do

  36. It was a lovely sunny day today (Friday) and so I got Bagheera out and about. Charlotte has been getting all the love this past week. I plan on riding her tomorrow (Saturday). Having two bikes is like having your cake and eating it too, so they say... I just eat the cake if I want the cake, but not too much cake... I don't really like cake anymore, honestly, the cake can just piss off. Two bikes just rocks. I feel very fortunate, I better watch it or I will be having too much fun soon.
